If you are new to skating you are not required to compete, however creating a program and registering for a competition will be beneficial for both you and our team. If you have skating experience, you are required to compete at least one program. (If you have no program, one will be created by our team coach, your personal coach, or by yourself)
In Collegiate skating you CAN choose to skate up or down a level. You can also stay at your own skill set. BUT if you choose to compete up or down, you stay there for the remaining of the season.
Team Maneuvers are divided into a "A", "B" and "C" team. (Over the last couple years, we've had no B team, only A and C.) The teams are depicted by your *skating level* "A" team cuts off at Gold. "C" team cuts off at Silver. You compete as a team. One member of the team represents a skill; whether that is, spins, moves or jumps. (Typically, one person per skill, maybe 2)
*Skating level* refers to testing within the USFSA guidelines.
More information on skating testing found here: www.usfigureskating.org/skate/test-structure/figure-skating-levels
In order to register go to www.usfigureskating.org/skate/compete and LOGIN (top right-hand corner), next go to EMS and click COMPETITIONS, search for the competition we are attending (Texas and Wisconsin) and click REGISTER.
